Factors To Consider When Choosing Art Deco Lighting

Many factors affect your room’s energy. Most of us would like good energy. Your lighting is a way to determine that. When your room has dim, dark, yellow lighting, it gives the room a calm and peaceful feel of energy. On the other hand, if your room has bright light, that is going to be a room with the feeling of high energy. Energy is only one of many factors that involve choosing your lighting. When you are choosing your art deco lighting, the three questions you should ask yourself are as follows:

What is the rooms function? While choosing lighting for a bedroom, you most likely would not choose a bright tall lamp. This reason being that you use your bedroom for sleeping, reading, relaxing and romance, so while you are doing things in the bedroom the need for a bright light is unnecessary. While choosing lighting for your family room you may want a variety of lighting. You may need soft lamps and a bright overhead chandelier, for a family you room you relax and also play games and have fun with friends and family.

For the second question, what is the style of the room? Your lights should be based on style. Let us say you have a tropical paradise theme, you usually would like your bed comforter and your paint to go with the flow. Just as you would choose most of the items to go in to your tropical themed room to match, your lighting decision should be the same. Maybe you have found an art deco lamp that is the base of the style of the room. Now you have found the lamp, all you have to do is find everything else to go with it!

The last question is what I guess you could say is the most important one. How big is your lighting compared to the size of the room? Bathroom lights would go in a pretty small room so they don’t have to be that big.  Now, it is all on you if you want to put nautical pendant lighting in your twelve by twelve foot bedroom. In a way, it could bring out the rose pink wallpaper. On the other hand, it could burn it right off the walls! Ok, the reason for the concern is not the fire hazards; it does have to do with style and function. Your room cannot function with nine hundred watts blaring in a little space or a just night light in your family room.

Your room’s style will not be seen with only the glow of that little night light in you family room. In addition, your style could contradict your lighting. Don’t get me? Ok, lets say you have done your guest room in warm colors, dark bamboo shades and you are planning for you guest to feel calm and cool. The room is not very big and all you are worried about is there comfort. Are you going to buy that nice big bright ceiling light? On the other hand, are you going to buy that small pretty wall mount light? Go with the wall mount you want her to be comfortable, give her a comfortable light.

The three things to remember when choosing your lights are function, style, and size. You keep these in mind and you should have no problem bring home the art deco lighting fit for your home.
